Frequently Asked Questions

Are there tryouts?
No, all are welcome.
I have never done a triathlon…can I still join?
Definitely. One of the main goals of this club is to expose people to the sport of triathlon. Veteran members are more than willing to help out the newer ones. One thing you’ll find about triathlon is that most people are friendly and excited to share their love of this sport.
I’m just starting out. Will there be people that I can train with?
Yes. Triathlon is a great way to get in shape. We have people of all abilities in our club and workouts are flexible for all levels. It is very likely that you will find other club members who are the same speed as you in all three aspects of triathlon.
I plan to do more than one triathlon this year. How can I become a member of USA Triathlon to save on registration fees?
Here’s a link to sign up: USA Triathlon: membership.usatriathlon.org/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2F
I purchased a one day USAT membership for a previous race. Can I apply this one day membership towards the purchase of an annual membership?
Yes. According to the USAT website, you need to send in a copy of the one-day membership along with the annual membership application and payment for the remaining membership fees. If you have questions related to this or other issues with USAT, please contact them directly at membership@usatriathlon.org or call them at 719-955-2807.
Is the Triathlon Club separate from the Swim Bike Run Store?
Yes. Swim Bike Run is our title sponsor and provides great discounts on gear and technical support, training opportunities and even hosts some of our meetings/social events for SBR Tri Club members. For this reason, any club apparel located at the store is only sold to active club members and is required to be paid for separately from other store merchandise.
Is Swim Bike Run Triathlon Club of St Louis a non-profit organization?
Yes. It is the club’s intention to use the funds collected to promote the sport of triathlon by teaching and encouraging new athletes. We also encourage our members to participate and volunteer in community charity events.
